Job Description

Duties & Responsibilities

 

Overview: The Executive Director reports to the MHABC’s Board of Directors with direct line authority to the MHABC President and is responsible for the organization’s consistent achievement of its mission and strategic objectives. 

  • Participate in the development of a Vision, Mission, and Strategic Plan in collaboration with the Board/Executive Committee, and once adopted, participate in the promotion and implementation of the strategic plan. 
  • Provide leadership in developing program, organizational, and financial plans with the Board and Association management, and carry out plans and policies authorized by the Board. 
  • Develop and implement annual operational plans that support the strategic priorities of the Association. 
  • Implement the policies, rules, and guidelines for organizational operations.
  • Facilitate, in collaboration with the Contract Administrator, the work of the Association committees. 
  • Maintain official records and documents, and ensure compliance with federal, provincial, and local regulations. 
  • Oversee the efficient and effective day-to-day operation of the Association. 
  • Ensure, with collaboration from the Contract Administrator, the Association’s administrative systems and processes enabling the association to meet its obligations
  • Identify, assess, and inform the Board of internal and external issues that may affect the Association and propose actions to address those issues of concern. 
  • Facilitate, in collaboration with the Contract Administrator, the planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of all projects approved by the Board ensuring that reporting responsibilities are met. 
  • Ensure, to the best of their ability, that the Association complies with all Provincial, Federal, and Society legislation, alongside the Associations governing documents, policies, and procedures. 
  • Maintain a working knowledge of significant developments and trends in the profession. 

 

Communications

  • Working in coordination with the Contract Administrator and marketing firm to organize MHABC Marketing Committee meetings in advance of Board or Directors meetings
  • Provide newsletter contact to Contract Administrator for dissemination. 
  • Review and approved the monthly newsletter.
  • Create communications to Members as required.
  • Provide any necessary website updates to the marketing firm. 
  • Monitor the Association’s email address and telephone number, with review and follow-up on concerns/complaints with the appropriate Members as required. 
  • Monthly correspondence with sister Associations, including MHAPP and CHBA Modular Construction Council

 

Government Relations

  • Maintain quarterly meeting schedule with local and Provincial leaders and Associations related to the industry.
  • Organize periodic meetings with provincial government Ministries, Branches and Divisions that influence operation of the manufactured/modular housing industry
  • Prepare meeting minutes with these standing bodies for review during Board meetings. 
  • Advocate for ongoing Association relevance and voice within the industry. 
  • Represent the Association/Executive Committee as required.

 

Financial

  • Approve payables in conjunction with the Association’s Treasurer. 
  • Prepare and review monthly financial and shipping statements with the Board. 
  • Prepare annual home shipment budget.
  • Create an annual budget along with the Association’s Treasurer. 
  • Oversee completion of the annual Financial Review with auditing firm.

 

Board/Committees

  • Organize Board of Directors meetings based upon pre-determined six-week meeting schedule.
  • Create and disseminate Board Meeting minutes. 
  • Review meeting agenda created by Contract Administrator.
  • Attend as ex-officio to all committee meetings.
  • Maintain teamwork and communication s between the Board, Committees, volunteers, and contractors. 
  • Oversee implementation of all Board Directors, policies, and procedures. 
  • Conduct official correspondence on behalf of the Board/Executive Committee. 

 

Events

  • MHABC Annual Summit
    • Work with Contract Administrator to organize and facilitate the conference.
  • AGM
    • Ensure all components of the AGM are prepared and sent out to Members within the required timelines with assistance by the Contract Administrator. 

 

Membership

  • Monitor and follow up regarding membership status and renewals. 
  • New Association member onboarding.

Starting Salary: $75K
